It’s hard to keep away from those adorable mini candies but before you unwrap another, let’s check in.
What’s your brain telling you?
“Just one more.” Or “I’ll be better tomorrow.” Maybe it’s “I’ve already messed up so I might as well go for it.”
“I deserve it after a long day.”
“I need a little pick me up.”
Trust us when we tell you this ——> Your brain is lying to you.
It wants you to give in to what’s going to feel good in the moment. Do the easy thing. Get the immediate gratification.
What it’s not telling you is you end up sacrificing your long term goals in the process. It’s 10 seconds of pleasure and then what? If you’re anything like us, it’s likely you’re gonna want more.
We’re here as your coaches to remind you you are not your thoughts. You don't have to listen to your brain.
Right now you can make another choice.
You can make the decision to choose you over the candy. You just have to decide.
Here’s how it goes.
You notice your brain telling you to have another piece. Instead of reaching for the candy, get curious. Just listen without acting. What story is your brain telling you?
