No one's born with it, but everyone can have it.
Nov 02, 2021I used to give a lot of meaning to what I thought other people thought of me.
People I grew up with, my parents, my peers.
Like I should just be a certain way and do certain things.
My life should look a certain way.
I thought I wasn’t successful enough, right enough, this enough, that enough…
So I did all the things I thought they thought were right.
And that became my identity.
But then I developed this wobble.
The grasping and forcing and pushing became unsustainable and made me question everything, my footing, even my next step forward.
I realize now I’m not a mind reader.
These were purely assumptions my brain was making.
And I have a choice to think and feel and walk in the world differently.
I want to walk with intention, love, compassion, kick-assery, friendship, curiosity and trust.
To do that I need to feel self-confident.
I wasn’t born with self confidence. None of us were.
It’s a feeling we can cultivate. Like a skill.
And with practice you can cultivate any feeling you desire.
Self confidence starts with your thoughts, not your actions.
You don’t have to DO anything.
It’s about becoming aware of the thoughts you’re thinking.
We’ll show you.
It’s the essential ingredient in growth and change.
It's a non-negotiable. And we’ll explain why.
We’ll show you the three components of self confidence - the what why and how - in a new mini lesson next week.
But first, what’s the difference between confidence and self confidence?
Stay tuned, we’ll break it down on the next blog.
